About

Capturing the emotions of heartfelt moments and creating light flooded atmospheres, these are the traits that pervade Christoph’s work. This Hamburg native was the son of a sculptor but found his own medium and is continually developing his craft in the field of photography and film. Continuing the search for emotionally charged subjects he works for companies and advertising agencies, also realising his own projects to interpret trends in society and make these trends visable for others.

Before grounding his photo studio between the historical meat producing factories and the ever more fashionable Schanzen district in Hamburg, Christoph worked for renowned photographers in Germany, London and New York. Among them was Annie Leibovitz, who inspired him with her staged portraits. To this day his imagery impresses by its deliberate design and by using unexpected and fascinating perspectives.
Christoph is naturally curious about people and trends in society, so it is not surprising that he can quickly establish an easy rapport with people to find powerful statements in the area of people, fashion or lifestyle. His commitment is also reflected in his work with community projects such as being the patron of the yearly photographic competition “Guck ma’” and most recently as chairman of the jury for the city of Hamburg competition „Nature in Focus” 2014.

This engagement with his subject has also resulted in many awards: Two silver medals and a bronze medal from the Art Directors Club plus the gold medal of German dialogue marketing. Furthermore he was been selected by Lürzer’s Archive as one of the 200 World Best Advertising Photographers. Christoph Siegert is a member by the free association of professional photographers and film makers and FreeLens the society for photo journalists.
